LEGO® Harry Potter Collectors’ Edition sets compared

Every year since 2021, the LEGO® Group has released one large Harry Potter set for adults under the Collectors’ Edition name. The four most recent are Gringotts Wizarding Bank, The Burrow, Hogsmeade Village and The Ministry of Magic. They range from 2,405 to 4,803 pieces and from $259.99 to $449.99 at their original US retail price, and one of them has already retired. This guide puts the four side by side so you can see what each one depicts, how big it is, where it stands on retirement and which kind of collector it suits. All four are in our Harry Potter collection at the time of writing (October 2026).

What makes a LEGO Harry Potter set a Collectors’ Edition
Collectors’ Edition is a name LEGO prints on its biggest Harry Potter display models. Brick Fanatics reports that the flagship Harry Potter sets were rebranded as Collectors’ Edition models in 2021, and that LEGO has released one huge set from the range each year since. The site describes the 18+ Collectors’ Edition banner as being to Harry Potter “what the Ultimate Collector Series is to Star Wars.” LEGO.com rates all four sets in this guide 18+ and describes The Burrow as part of “a collection of premium-quality building sets for adults.” In practice that means large display builds, detailed interiors and minifigure line-ups built around a single location.
Note: These four are not the whole range. Brick Fanatics also lists Hogwarts Icons (76391, 2021) and the Hogwarts Express (76405, 2022) as earlier Collectors’ Editions, and LEGO.com currently sells a much smaller Sorcerer’s Stone Collectors’ Edition (76466) with 1,571 pieces. We focus on the four building-based sets we have on our shelves.
Is Hogwarts Castle a Collectors’ Edition?
Not by name. LEGO sells Hogwarts Castle (71043) simply as “Hogwarts Castle,” and Brick Fanatics notes that it does not carry the Collectors’ Edition name, though it treats it as an honourable mention. Released in 2018 with 6,020 pieces, it is still the biggest LEGO Harry Potter set, according to the same site. It is built at microscale, with 4 minifigures of the Hogwarts founders and 27 microfigures, so it is built to a different scale from the minifigure-scale sets below.

Each Harry Potter Collectors’ Edition set in detail
Gringotts Wizarding Bank (76417), 2023
Gringotts Wizarding Bank – Collectors’ Edition (76417) is three stacked models: the bank’s foyer and mezzanine, a spiralling vault cart track with a mechanism that stops the cart at each of 3 underground vaults, and a posable Ukrainian Ironbelly dragon on top. A small Magical Menagerie shop is included, and LEGO says the bank connects to Diagon Alley (75978). The 13 minifigures include two Harry Potter figures, Hagrid, Griphook, Bogrod and a Bellatrix Lestrange figure with an alternate Hermione Granger face. Brick Fanatics, which called it the “best LEGO Harry Potter set of all time,” says every minifigure apart from young Harry and Hagrid is exclusive to this set. It launched at $429.99 and is the largest of the four, at 4,803 pieces.
The Burrow (76437), 2024
The Burrow – Collectors’ Edition (76437) recreates the Weasley family home with tilted floors and wonky walls, and opens up to show the interior. LEGO highlights a fireplace with a Floo Network function that makes a minifigure “disappear,” “self-cleaning” pots in the kitchen and Fred and George’s bedroom. The 10 minifigures are the entire Weasley family plus Harry Potter, with Errol the owl and 2 pigs for the pigsty outside. Brick Fanatics notes that LEGO “took a step back” from 3,000-piece-plus sets with this one, and at 2,405 pieces and $259.99 it is the smallest and least expensive of the four.
Hogsmeade Village (76457), 2025
Hogsmeade Village – Collectors’ Edition (76457) is a snowy street scene of 7 buildings in 3 connectible modules. They include Honeydukes, the Owl Post, The Three Broomsticks, Dervish and Banges and Scrivenshaft’s Quill Shop, plus what LEGO calls the first-ever LEGO builds of Zonko’s Joke Shop and the Hog’s Head pub. It comes with 12 minifigures, among them Madam Rosmerta, Aberforth Dumbledore and Cornelius Fudge, plus a horse and carriage. LEGO says the builds are the same scale as Gringotts. It is the widest set here, at over 30 in. (76 cm) across but only 5.5 in. (14 cm) deep.
The Ministry of Magic (76476), 2026
The Ministry of Magic – Collectors’ Edition (76476) is the newest of the four. It went on sale on 29 August 2026 for LEGO Insiders members and on 1 September for everyone else, according to Brick Fanatics. Like Gringotts, it splits into levels: a London street with the Underground station and red telephone box, the Ministry offices below, and the Hall of Prophecy at the bottom. LEGO lists Arthur Weasley’s and Dolores Umbridge’s offices, the courtroom hearing and the Dumbledore and Voldemort duel. Functions let you “flush” a minifigure from the restroom into the Ministry and collapse the prophecy shelves. It has 14 minifigures plus a Lynx Patronus figure for the theme’s 25th anniversary, and Brick Fanatics says Antonin Dolohov and Mrs. Figg are new to LEGO Harry Potter.
Collectors’ Edition retirement: where each set stands
LEGO does not publish retirement dates in advance. Brickset tracks expected dates, and these can change. Here is where the four stand as of October 2026:
- Gringotts (76417): retired. Brickset lists an expected retirement date of 31 July 2026, LEGO.com now shows it as sold out, and Brick Fanatics reports that it retired in 2026.
- The Burrow (76437): Brickset lists an expected retirement date of 31 December 2026. At the time of writing, LEGO.com shows it as sold out and tags it “Retiring soon.”
- Hogsmeade Village (76457): Brickset lists an expected retirement date of 31 December 2027.
- The Ministry of Magic (76476): Brickset does not list an expected retirement date yet. The set only went on sale in September 2026.
Note: Once a set leaves LEGO.com and other stores, it can become harder to find. Our guide to LEGO sets retiring soon explains how these dates are estimated, and can you still buy retired LEGO sets? covers buying after retirement.
Which Harry Potter Collectors’ Edition suits which collector
- The Diagon Alley collector: Gringotts. It connects to Diagon Alley (75978) and is the tallest of the four once stacked. It is also the only retired one, so this is the set to ask about if you missed it on LEGO.com.
- A smaller shelf or a first big set: The Burrow. It has the fewest pieces and the lowest original price, and LEGO gives its width as 9.5 in. (25 cm).
- Street scenes and long shelves: Hogsmeade Village. Seven buildings in a shallow row suit a long, narrow display, and the modules can be split up.
- Minifigure fans and Order of the Phoenix fans: The Ministry of Magic. It has the most minifigures of the four, two new characters and the Lynx Patronus.
- Weasley fans: The Burrow has every Weasley, and Ron turns up in all four sets.
